it takes a minute to send mail via php mail function. What can I do? What
is wrong? Can somebody please help me?
It started with an old kubuntu computer, than I moved my server to I5
processor with 4 GB RAM and I noticed it again some time ago ...
Thanks in advance, Gregor

asuming you're using settings in php.ini

[if you're using smtp server settings]
* Is DNS lookup slow?
* Have you tried checking the speed smtp server?
see if you can send a mail manually by telnetting to the
smtp server (google how to if you don't know how to do this).

Same goes for the sendmail server too ofc.

If your hostname is not fully qualified host name, sendmail will delay
sending the email ~60 seconds.
